U14A Top 4 Semi-Final Glanmire 30 Brunell 42(May 15, 2009)
The Glanmire U14A team’s reward for making it to the season-ending U14A tournament was a clash against table-toppers Brunell, who had already inflicted three defeats on the Glanmire girls this season. A team consisting of L. Mullins, L. Wilkinson, A. McCarthy, E. Delea, L. Wyse and then T. Barrett battled well in the opening quarter and while showing good defensive qualities, found scores to be difficult to come by. Indeed, a three-pointer from Barrett was the team’s only reward as Brunell pulled ahead by 7 (3-10)....Click here for full match report

U13 Top 4 Final Glanmire 31 Waterford Wldcats 22(May 11, 2009)
The Glanmire U13 team was hoping to wrap up what has been a great season by taking the Top 4 title at the Parochial Hall. In order to do this the girls were going to have to overcome Wildcats, who had scored a remarkable last-second basket to beat Ballincollig in the second semi-final. Glanmire started with L. Wyse, S. Kenny, E. O’Mahony, H. Herlihy and S. Fahy who tore into the opposition, with some great interceptions and breaks from H. Herlihy having a great impact. L. Wyse scored two great baskets and Glanmire suddenly had a 4-1 lead. .....Click here for full match report

U13 Top 4 Semi-Final Glanmire 37 Donoughmore 24(May 11, 2009)
By virtue of having topped the league, the Glanmire U13 ladies faced fourth-placed Donoughmore in the semi-final of the season-ending Top 4 competition. Glanmire started with L. Wyse, H. Herlihy, S. Fahy, T. Barrett and E. O’Mahony and a flurry of scores from S. Fahy and L. Wyse (8 and 4, respectively) gave Glanmire an early 12-2 lead. A. Moynihan then came on and together with H. Herlihy was involved in a move that set up S. Fahy for yet another score before adding a point herself from the free-throw line.....Click here for full match report

U13 Glanmire 48 Ballincollig 9(May 8, 2009)
The Glanmire U13 team played their final league game of the season against a full strength Ballincollig on May 8th at the Parochial Hall. Glanmire had already captured the league title but their unbeaten run in the league was still at the stake and both teams knew that the winners of this match would gain a psychological advantage heading into the Top 4 Season Finale. Glanmire started with S. Fahy, S. Kenny, E. Moynihan, L. Wyse and T. Barrett, with A. U14A Glanmire 47 Fr Matthew’s 34(May 5, 2009)
The Glanmire U14A team entered their last league game of the season knowing that a victory would earn them a place in the season-ending Top Four tournament. However, in order to achieve this goal they needed to overcome a Fr Matthew’s side who they had already lost to twice this season, 25-36 and, most recently, 17-47. Glanmire started with L. Wyse, A. McCarthy, E. Delea, L. Wilkinson and L. Mullins and this five put Fr Matthew’s under serious pressure from the beginning, taking a 8-5 lead through scores from Mullins (x2), Wyse and McCarthy....Click here for full match report

U13 Meteor’s All-Ireland Invitational May 2nd 2009
The Glanmire U13 team (and supporter’s club) travelled to Dublin to play in an All Ireland invitational tournament where they faced hosts Meteors, Waterford Wildcats, Galway team Bearna and local rivals Ballincollig. The competition involved an initial round robin series of games after which the two most successful teams competed in the final.

U13 Glanmire 65 Carrigaline 7 (May 1, 2009)
The Glanmire U13 girls have wrapped up the ’08-’09 league title with one game left to play thanks to a comprehensive victory over Carrigaline. In reality, this match was over as a contest after the first quarter during which the Glanmire team jumped into a 29-2 lead. A consistent feature of this first quarter was Glanmire’s ability to break rapidly with a number of long passes from E. O’Mahony being converted by S. Fahy, who scored 16 during this period alone. U13 Glanmire 74 Midleton 14 (April 9, 2009)
Glanmire U13s responded to the disappointment of losing the Championship final last weekend by putting on a number of devastating displays this week. On Tuesday they won all of their encounters against school opposition in a mid-term blitz and on this Thursday night clash at the Parochial Hall they scored a record victory over Midleton in the league. Glanmire started with L. Wyse, E. O’Mahony, A. Moynihan, H. Herlihy and S. Fahy and, having conceded the first score, went on a 22-1 run to pull away....Click here for full match report

U13 Chamionship FinalGlanmire 27 Ballincollig 29 (April 4, 2009)
Neptune stadium hosted the clash of Glanmire and Ballincollig in the 2009 U13 Championship Final. These two teams have had a number of close encounters in the past 18 months and this was to be no exception. Glanmire started with L. Wyse, S. Kenny, H. Herlihy, E. Barrett and T. Barrett and got off the mark quickly when L. Wyse scored the first basket. However Ballincollig hit back and, despite assistance for Glanmire from A. Moynihan, S. Fahy and C. Tyner off the bench, scored 10 points without reply to leave the Glanmire girls trailing by 8 at the end of the quarter.....Click here for full match report

U13 Glanmire 49 Carraig na bhFear 21 (Mar. 26, 2009)
The Glanmire U13/U14 squad faced Carraig na bhFear for the third time in recent weeks in this U13 league encounter and the Carraig na bhFear girls will be hoping that it will be quite a while before they have to meet again. The Glanmire starting five of L. Wyse, E. O’Mahony, T. Barrett, S. Kenny and C. Gillen sprung straight into action and from the tip-off Wyse found O’Mahony who then set up Barrett for the first score.....Click here for full match report

U13 Glanmire 49 Mallow 12 (Mar. 21, 2009)
The Glanmire U13 team returned to league action in this Saturday morning away fixture in Mallow. A. Moynihan, S. Fahy, T. Barrett, H. Herlihy and L. Wyse started for Glanmire with C. Tyner coming on from the bench during the quarter. L. Wyse and S. Fahy performed well and scored all of the team’s points to give the side a narrow lead (7-5). A heated debate during the break about the accuracy of the score-keeping seemed to spur the Glanmire girls into action and they blew away the opposition in the second quarter. ......Click here for full match report

The Glanmire U13 squad played their first competitive fixture in almost a month in this Championship semi-final against Carrag na bhFear at the Parochial Hall. Despite this, the team showed no signs of rustiness and thanks to scores from S. Fahy, L. Wyse, A. Moynihan and E. O’Mahony, together with strong support play from T. The Glanmire U14A team put together their best display for quite some time for this Saturday afternoon away match against Carraig na bhFear. Glanmire started with R. Cotter, L. Wyse, E. Delea, L. Mullins and T. Barrett with L. Mullins, T. Barrett and A. U14A Glanmire 17 Fr Matthew’s 47 (Mar. 8, 2009)
The Glanmire U14A team will be glad to see the back of the Ballyphehane Community Centre ‘ice-rink’ after going down to Fr Matthew’s for the second time in eight days in this Sunday morning clash. Unfortunately Glanmire again left themselves with a mountain to climb after the first quarter after which they trailed 2-16, with L. Mullins scoring for the away side. Glanmire were drawn with Fr Matthews and Skibbereen in Pool B of an U14 blitz in the Parochial Hall. Unfortunately for the Glanmire girls they were slow to get going in their opening match against an older and taller Fr Matthews side that have only lost two games in the league this season. U14A Glanmire 50 Skibbereen 22 (Feb Blitz, 2009)
The ’08-’09 Glanmire U14A baskeball squad is made of stern stuff and, with the memory of a defeat to Fr Matthews still on their minds, bounced back strongly in their second match of the U14 Blitz. Yet again, however, Glanmire got off to a slow start and, but for three free-throws from E. Delea and A. McCarthy and a fine run.....Click here for full match report

The Glanmire U14As put on a battling display against Ballincollig in this Thursday night encounter at the Parochial Hall, despite a clash with a U15 fixture that resulted in a number of regular members of the squad not being available for selection. Glanmire U13s made an early morning trip to Waterford knowing that a win over Wildcats would put them in a very strong position to win the U13 league. Glanmire U14As dropped out of the championship after a bruising competition against a tough Brunell team. The odds were stacked against the Glanmire girls even before tip-off with seven of the squad of ten having just completed an U13 Championship win over Donoughmore. Glanmire eased through the first round of the U13 championship with a home win over a hard-working Donoughmore side. Glanmire put out a strong starting five of L. Wyse, S. Fahy, E. O’Mahony, S. Kenny and T. Barrett who were supported from the bench by H. Herlihy, C. Gillen and A. O’Lehan. S. Fahy and L. Something had to give as the two remaining unbeaten teams in the U13 league met for what turned out to be a clash of epic proportions at the Parochial Hall this Thursday night. Ballincollig flew out of the starting blocks against a Glanmire starting five of L. Wyse, C. Tyner, E. O’Mahony, H. Herlihy and S. Glanmire U13s travelled to league leaders Donoughmore on this miserable Sunday hoping to extend their unbeaten run. While the game started in a dimly lit hall owing to electrical problems, the Glanmire girls soon lit up the place with the quality of their play. Glanmire started with L. Wyse, A. Moynihan, H. U14A Glanmire 42 Skibbereen 27 (Nov 2, 2008)
The Glanmire U14A team recorded their second straight victory in this away fixture against Skibbereen. E. Delea, L. Mullins, S. Fahy, L. Wilkinson and L. Wyse got the team off to a great start. 3 scores from L. Wyse, a long-range 2-pointer from L. Wilkinson and 2 free-throws from S. Fahy gave the girls a 12-4 lead. A. McCarthy, E. Moynihan and R. The Parochial Hall hosted this titanic clash between Glanmire and Waterford Wildcats U13 teams. Glanmire were missing a number of players and were reduced to a squad of 10. However the girls more than compensated for this with a great team effort. Glanmire started with E. O’Mahony, S. Kenny, L. Wyse, L. Mullins and E.J. Murphy. E. U14A Glanmire 51 Carraig na bhFear 43 (Oct 25, 2008)
The Glanmire U14A team continued to improve, recording their first victory of the season with a 51-43 win over Carraig na bhFear. Glanmire started with L. Wilkinson, L. Wyse, L. Mullins, E. Delea, and S. Fahy with T. Barrett also contributing. The first Glanmire score was from S. Fahy but a L. Wilkinson 3-pointer, a number of L. The Glanmire U13 team continued their impressive start to the 08/09 season with their biggest win of the season so far against Bantry at the Parochial Hall. Glanmire were 22-0 up by the end of the first quarter with H. Herlihy, E. O’Mahony and then L. O’Leary providing openings which were clinically converted by L. Wyse, S. Fahy and S. Kenny. C. After an opening defeat to Ballincollig, the Glanmire U14As were attempting to bounce back in this away game versus Carrigaline. However the visitors, who started with L. Wyse, L. Mullins, L. Wilkinson, E. Delea and T. Barrett and were assisted by S. Fahy, were under pressure from a taller Carrigaline team from the start and required scores from T. Barrett and L.
