Team Montonette Hotel Cork’s coach, Mark Scannell, was beaming after the team completed the treble with a 67-56 win over DCU Mercy at UL's Sport Complex in the final of Basketball Ireland's Womens SuperLeague 2008. “We’re absolutely delighted with the win, it tops off a fantastic season for the girls and their defence was superb out there today," said Scannall. Glanmire Ladies Team Montenotte Hotel Crowned Regular Season Champions

Team Montenotte Hotel/Glanmire recorded their 15th consecutive league win in the Women's SuperLeague to claim the top spot of the 2007-8 Women's SuperLeaguewhen easily accounting for Tolka Rovers at Little Island Sports Centre on Sat Feb. 16. The final score was 85 to the home side and 47 to the visitors.

Victory for Glanmire Ladies in Senior AND Under 20 National Cup Finals 2008

Team Montenotte Hotel Senior Ladies (above) retained the 2008 Women’s SuperLeague National Cup title after a thrilling 78-77 overtime win over Bausch & Lomb Wildcats at the National Basketball Arena.

TEAM MONTENOTTE HOTEL WIN 2007 NATIONAL CUP:

Team Montenotte Hotel Cork defeated UL Aughinish in a pulsating final in the National Basketball Arena to claim the Women's SuperLeague National Cup. MVP Marie Breen top scored with 29 points for the Glanmire side as they saw off UL in a game that swung both ways. The win completed a hat-trick of successes for the Glanmire club and coach Mark Scannell as the title added to the Under-18 and Under-20 National Cup victories achieved in Tallaght over the same weekend. The final score read Team Montenotte Hotel 89, UL Aughinish 75, in what completed an incredible weekend for the side from Glanmire. Click photo to enlarge

Glanmire Crowned Triple All-Ireland Champions

The Club surpassed all expectations this season when they won the under 18, under 20 and senior ladies national cups in the National Basketball Arena on Jan. 26th, 27th and 28th.The Glanmire Womens Superleague team (Team Montenotte Hotel) claimed the Women's SuperLeague National Cup when they defeated UL Aughinish 89-75 in a pulsating final. Marie Breen captained the team and was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the game for her top score of 29 points.

A late comeback from the under 20 team (Vienna Woods Glanmire) saw Team captain Kathryn Fahy lift the Under 20 national cup. Jessica Scannell (awarded MVP) netted two late 3 pointers to swing the tie Glanmire’s way, and help snatch the game from brave Killester. The final score was 52-47.  

Jessica Scannell became the first captain to lift the inaugral under 18 national cup when the under 18 team (Vienna Woods Glanmire) proved too good for Maree of Galway, winning on a scorline of 70-47. Orla O' Reilly the game's top scorer was awarded MVP.

Coach Mark Scannell had a dream season coaching all three winning teams. Club Chairman Timmy Murphy paid tribute to the players and their coach on the historic triple win and paid tribute to everyone who has given time and sponsorship to the club.

GLANMIRE CLAIM WOMEN'S 2006 SUPERLEAGUE TITLE

The Glanmire Womens Superleague team (Team Vienna Woods) became 2006 Women's Super League Champions after a comfortable 69-38 victory over Carna Transport Mercy at the Mardyke Arena, Cork. 

Glanmire after the 1st quarter, never looked in trouble. Thanks to Marie Breen, Glanmire led 8-11 at the end of the 1st period. In the 2nd quarter, Glanmire opened with 10 unanswered points, inspired by American Karen Habrukowich. Donna Buckley knocked in a big three-pointer with 40 seconds on the game clock to stretch the lead to 14 points (14-28) and Captain Denise Walsh added another one before the buzzer, leaving the half-time score at 14-29. Glanmire came out all guns blazing again in the third. Michelle Fahy was lighting up the house, contributing 12 points. Jessica Scannell added an impressive 3 in the 9th minute. Glanmire's super sub Amy Stewart came onto the floor and clocked up four points in a one minute spell and when the whistle blew, Glanmire ran out deserving winners by 31 points.
